When I first moved Austin in 2006, I started exploring the city via bicycle. One of the things that I kept finding in my viewfinder were cranes. During this time, The W Hotel, The Spring, 360 Condos, The Austonian and The Monarch were all being built and Las Manitas was torn down.  The city was beginning to change and grow up, literally.

Things you can count on in life: growth and change.

Things that make being human cool : insight and inquiry

In 2008 I moved to Brooklyn to attend The International Center of Photography.

Upon returning to Texas at the end of 2010,  Austin was  disappearing: land marks, public art, open space. It sometimes feels as though the sidewalk is being erased behind me as I ride over it.

Images in Arms of Progress are from October 2006 to present day.

Like Austin, this series is in progress…come back often.
